Shimano Talica Series A lightweight multiplier reel made with high-quality components and workmanship, the Shimano Talica features brass gears. The Talica is available with a single-speed gearbox, or a two-speed gearbox which can be switched between two different transmission ratios. Hagane Body: The Hagane Body is made of high-rigidity aluminium or magnesium. The manufacturing process produces stiffness with impact resistance while preventing flexing of the body. The result is a rock-solid housing, with support for the internal gearing and greater efficiency throughout the reel. Shielded A-RB ball bearings: Original A-RB ball bearings, which have a sealed surface, offer additional protection against sand, salt and dust. E.I. surface treatment: The E.I. surface treatment makes the spool much more durable and minimises oxidation. Waterproof brake: By using a rubber seal, the brake is protected from penetration by water, sand and dust. Diecast aluminium: Diecast aluminium is used for many types of reel and is most common on fixed spool reel bodies and rotors. It is also used for spools on P4 fixed-spool reels and on some baitcasting models. Clicker system: The clicker system increases the pressure in the freewheel setting and activates a clicking alarm when the fish pulls on the line. Two-speed transmission: This shifting mechanism is designed so that gear changes are quick and easy, even when fighting a fish. The low gear ratio used for high-power retrievals is selected by pushing the button on the base of the handle. Return to the high-speed ratio is selected by sliding the release button along the handle shank. By using two sets of gears, the drive and pinion gears are always engaged. There is no gear meshing during the shift.
